Twinkies

Twinkies deserve a post on the blog because they are an American staple. The blonde cake helped many through the depression of ww2. It was a war, celebration, and family snack. 

500 million Twinkies are sold a year. The golden snack has been a staple in children’s sack lunches for centuries. It’s a generational snack that has been passed down from parents to children to grandchildren and so on. The cheap, sweet snack fills you up as you bite into the fluffy, vanilla filled cake. The cream is just light and airy but super sweet, a good sweet and the sponge-like bread is so soft. In a way, a Twinkie was a delicious cupcake without the mess or a cupcake with the filling on the inside. You can deep fry them, get them strawberry filled, and chocolate filled also. They also have mini twinkies and serve Twinkies as a single for those who may think it’s too much sugar or those who get filled easily.
